Before attending the self defense course, I and all my friends considered men to be better fitted for physical confrontation than women. Linda completely changed this false thinking by teaching us that an average man body as such might be stronger, bigger and with more muscle mass but still has several weak and sensitive parts distributed in different places. She promoted a key principle in which women should take full advantage of these male Achille’s heels when defending themselves. She used to relate various striking targets on male body to fruits; eyes to cherry tomatoes or grapes, testicles to plums, kiwis or peaches, penis to a banana, a cucumber, or a carrot. Not only as metaphorical references but sometimes also as real analogues to demonstrate that these objects can be easily squashed, pierced, pinched off, compressed, or broken by even the weakest female hands.
Interestingly, one of the man-specific body parts already has a fruit name for it—the Adam’s apple. It is a protrusion on the thyroidal cartilage which appears as a noticeable bump on the neck during puberty in young men but is almost absent in women. The real biological purpose is not that clear but for sure it makes the male voice more deep sounding. It is also not clear why it is specifically called like this, it might be a bad translation from ancient languages or it is based on a legend about a piece of the forbidden fruit, stuck in the throat of Adam after taking it from Eva and eating it. Nevertheless, together with testicles it is just another awkward part of male anatomy which makes men more vulnerable during a fight. However, I must admit I find a nicely visible, but not overly big Adam’s apple highly attractive on a man. The funny bobbing movement it makes when a man speaks, or eats is so strangely satisfying. I often passionately kiss and suck my boyfriend’s Adam’s apple during a foreplay and I gave him already a few hickeys on this place 😊. A gentle kiss in that place also helped Bob to brush off the pain and mild suffocation after an accidentally strong hit with my fist during one of the classes.
There is also a V shape indentation at the top of the breastbone just at the base of the throat. Pressing your thumb into that spot will enable you to push back even the strongest attacker. Very effective if you're too close to jab effectively.
ReplyDeleteYes you are right we also learned it. You can use this to push him to the right distance for a good knee strike. If you do it with a really strong force you can even crush the windpipe.
DeleteGreat strategy Wendy. If done like you describe, he will very likely be in immediate and severe respiratory distress, and his ability to continue the attack would be very limited. That would likely allow us to blind him with an eye gouge, then crush his testicles with a kick or grab/squeeze technique. He won't be able to call an ambulance for himself then - even if he had a mobile phone he couldn't see the numbers to dial :O). He would like expire right where he lay. Your the best Wendy! Please tell us about penectomy techniques we could use in these situations too please! If he does live (not likely), we don't want him to have ANY ability for sex ever again!
Delete"desex him" i like that phrase
ReplyDelete:) Well, I thought it is the best translation what Linda said. Maybe it is too harsh expression but I think it describes the best what happens to an attacker at least temporally (sometimes permanently).
DeleteIsn't your inside voice saying to you that what you really wanted to write here is ..."to an attacker permanently (regrettably, only temporarily at times)"?
DeleteIndeed. Isn't it just so in vogue? Such forward thinking too!
DeleteI'm so glad you do, too!
DeleteFace it, nothing is to harsh for you Wendy; you have NO boundaries whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to serious female self defense (justified), there is no room for setting fallacious boundaries what is too harsh and what is not.
DeleteAccording to you, anyway. What you deem is justified is whatever the woman deems so. Men should be allowed to apply the same standard whenever physically touched without their consent or when they "feel threatened" by a woman. Nothing should be considered too harsh...including killing the woman if the man thinks it is justified.
DeleteI'm glad you snuck in that groin attack at the end. I worry when you go too long without talking about testicles.
ReplyDeleteLOL, I do talk a lot about testicles here so it even comes weird to me. But it's partially because of you guys asking so many questions, but no worries that's OK.
DeleteI assumed that you talked about testicles a lot here because Linda talked about them in class a lot. Does that mean the boys' testicles got more of a break than this blog would imply?
DeleteDo you still read comments on older posts? I would like to get the answer to my question.
DeleteHi Jay, sorry for not responding, sometimes I miss a comment. Maybe I didn't get the question right. Yes, we discussed testicles a lot, Linda rightfully did not shy away from this topic that's clear. Some men do not like this idea, but that's how it is. And yes that also means we invited Bob and Peter to be our 'darling attackers' and logically we took the opportunity they have testicles and we learned how to use them to our advantage, given we took enough consideration not to cause some serious harm. So no crushing, kicking, or kneeing in full force all the time without any break or something like that. So there was a balance. Hope I answered your question. Regards, Wendy
DeleteMaybe I could have been more clear about what I meant by their testicles getting a break. I think it might be more clear if I ask how often you focused on techniques that didn't involve testicles.
DeleteHi Jay, of course, we learned techniques not involving testicles. Eyes, Adam's apple, and knees, all these targets were discussed but testicles had a very prominent place :) I guess in more than 70% of cases testicles were involved (e.g. as a finishing move). Simply these are the crown jewels of female self defense, sorry for the pun :) Wendy
DeleteBack in the days, before victim anonymity, the News of the World, Sunday newspaper used to publish details of the rape cases from the courts. Women who went for the balls to defend themselves were invariably successful in fighting off their attackers. Several of the female reporters also became quite proficient in the techniques. The golden target!
DeleteHi, thank you for the comment. I am not familiar with the particular newspaper but I have read about several successful testicle-attacks-involving self defense cases in our local newspapers. Unfortunately, these are in my language. I would be happy in case you have it, to post any links. Regards, Wendy
